Chinese OEM Gionee recently launched 3 new smartphone devices which includes the Gionee S10 and the S10B smartphones.

The Gionee S10B is a junior version of the S10, the S10 comes packing some pretty cool specifications which includes an impressive 4GB RAM alongside a 64GB internal memory (expandable via microSD up to 256GB).

Camera wise, the S10 impresses, featuring a primary dual camera combo of 16MP + 8MP cameras and a dual secondary combo of 20MP + 8MP camera. The S10 unlike recent Gionee smartphones comes with a meagre 3450mAh non removable battery and offers 4G LTE connectivity support.

The Gionee S10B mostly comes with similar specification to the S10 but there is a big difference in camera, though it betters the S10 in battery (packing a 3700mAh battery).

The S10B features dual primary cameras (13MP + 5MP) but features a singular 16MP secondary camera. Similar to the S10, the S10B offers support for 4G LTE connectivity and packs similar storage options (4GB RAM, 64GB internal storage).

Check below for the full specifications of both devices:

OEM Gionee are set to launch another monster of a device! Having launched the beastly Gionee M6 mid last year (2016) as well as this year's stunning flagship i.e the Gionee M2017 in the beginning of the year (2017), Gionee is set to launch another dope smartphone i.e the Gionee M6S Plus.

It is general news that Gionee fits their devices with monster batteries especially the M series smartphones, with the M5, M6 and M2017 all getting a progressive increase in battery capacity.

The M6S Plus is expected to be no different, it would be equally beastly in terms of battery capacity.

Gionee has unveiled the new Gionee M5 Plus Android smartphone device and boy! is it a beast!!
Gionee M5 Plus is a 6.0 full HD Amoled display device and like its predecessor, the Gionee M5 Plus packs a monster 5020mAh (non-removeable) battery.
Storage on the M5 plus is also quite impressive with a 64GB internal memory - expandable with the use of sdcard up to 128GB alongside a cool 3GB RAM.
Gionee M5 Plus has respectable cameras with a 13 megapixels centralized front shooter with LED flash and a
5 megapixels selfie shooter.

I am a bit disappointed that the device runs on Android OS version 5.1 (lollipop 🍭) out-of-the-box, I expected v6.0 marshmallow.
The M5 Plus is powered by a MediaTek Octa Core Processor 1.3GHZ and offers support for GSM /WCDMA/CDMA and 4G LTE Network.
Sensor support on the Gionee M5 Plus includes G- Sensor, Light Sensor, E-Compass and of course Fingerprint security sensor.
The M5 Plus despite packing a monster battery is quite slim at 8.5mm and rocks a Type-C USB port and upon Unboxing comes with the usual suspects:
> A charger head
> A USB type C cable
> An Earpiece
> An Ejector pin

And in addition to these:

> A Screen protector
> A Transparent Back Case
> A Pouch.

The Gionee M5 still is a power packing device.
Information on the retail price is unavailable at the moment but of course I would keep you in the know.

Gadgets wise (smartphone specifically), 2016 has been quite interesting with major OEMs and gadgets makers rolling out awesome flagship and budget devices.

Globally, Samsung dominated the headlines and quite negatively too! (no thanks to the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 fiasco), while Google launched the Pixels and Apple launched the iPhone 7

Coming closer to home, the dominating OEMs in the country (NGR) also rolled out cool devices, with Gionee bringing the M5 plus among others, Tecno launching the Tecno Phantom 6 series and Infinix launching the Infinix Note 3 and Zero 4

Image result for google searching images

Other OEMs Innjoo, iTel also released some nice devices this year.
With a lot of devices flying around, it is only normal for consumers to consult almighty Google for help in choosing a suitable device (or just to window shop, lol)

Google has released a list of the most searched for smartphones in Nigeria and quite unsurprisingly OEMs Tecno and Infinix dominated the charts (Android fanboys everywhere)!!

While the Tecno and Infinix brands dominated the search list, it was king of swag i.e Apple's iPhone 7 which ultimately topped the list!!!
Below is the list.

  1. iPhone 7
  2. Infinix Note 3
  3. Samsung Galaxy S7
  4. Tecno Camon C9
  5. Infinix Hot 4
  6. Tecno Boom J8
  7. Infinix Hot 2
  8. Infinix Zero 3
  9. Tecno W4
  10. Tecno W3
This has been an interesting year and the new year 2017 promises to be also dope with teasers for awesome devices already in place.

We await Nokia's Android devices, Gionee's promised monster: Gionee M6 as well as the anticipated comeback of the wounded giants Samsung with the Samsung Galaxy S8
The likes of Tecno and Infinix would also quite definitely launch new products next year, CAN'T WAIT!!!

The world of tech gadgets is simpy crazy (Im talking financially)!
Just days, I heard and posted about OEM Gionee launching their new smartphone (Gionee M2017) and selling a variant of it at a stunning N1.2 million, I have just read about a stunning gaming PC which goes for a very "pocket friendly" price of "just" N3,600,000!!!

Yes! N3.6 million naira! In this recession (NGR)!!!
Anyways, the PC is pretty dope.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

The Acer Predator 21 X is the world’s first curved screen laptop and it comes featuring a 21-inch display (2560×1080 pixels resolution) with an amazing120Hz refresh rate.

This PC also features Tobii eye tracking, dual Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 graphic cards in SLI mode, and an overclockable 7th Generation Intel Core i7-7820HK processor!!

The device packs a 64GB of DDR4-2400 memory, up to four 512GB solid-state drives in RAID configuration (including 2 NVMe PCIe SSDs, which about 5X faster than SATA SSDs) and a 7200 RPM hard drive with up to a 2TB capacity!!!

A gamers' paradise!

Finally, the system carries five fans and nine heat pipes onboard to keep it cool and features a mechanical keyboard, four speakers and two subwoofers!!!
Simply mindblowing!!!

About the design, the PC does not look quite beautiful or sexy but who need beauty and sexy with the awesomeness the Acer Predator 21 X offers, right?

So if you have any N3,600,000 that you are not using, you should get this beast of a PC.
I know I would!!!

What do you think?

Friday, January 6, 2017

So, I posted about the pretty dope Acer’s Predator 21 X which cost a "pocket friendly" of N3.6 million and this is coming just after an MTK Gionee M2017 device was unveiled and available for sale at N1.2 million!!

I just saw another stunning PC on Misstechy which goes for about $15,000 (about N6,750,000!!!).

Razer has unveiled a new PC called "the Project Valerie" and it is set to be the world’s first automated triple display laptop!!

Mind-blowing right?
The Razer’s Project Valerie is essentially a three-headed beast of a gaming that is sure to be appreciated by gamers, programmers and hackers alike!

Each of the laptop’s 17.3inch displays rocks 4k resolution, which adds up to 12k in total (i.e 12X the resolution you get from your 1080p TV)!!!

The pixels on this device is powered by NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 GPU, producing a total resolution of 11,520 x 2,160px across the expansive triple display setup (dang!).

The 3 screens unfold automatically when you power on the device, otherwise it looks like your normal laptop when switched off with its extra screens folded in.

This amazing monster of a laptop weighs about 12lbs which is quite heavy ,(heavier than an average desktop PC).

While "Project Valerie" is still generally an idea, with time I guess we would see if Razer would come good on their promise of building what will be a stunning, mind-blowing gadget.

What do you think of this monster gadget?

Nigeria telecommunications company Globacom a while back launched their GLO 4G LTE services and officially joined the 4G LTE gang!!!

However, while Glo offers awesome 4G services coupled with some pretty amazing 4G data bundles, it is a bit of a letdown that they offer support for the service (4G LTE) only on Band 28.

Image result for 4g smartphones

This might not seem like quite a big deal until you come to cognizance of the fact that most 4G LTE supported smartphones currently in circulation in the country (NGR) does not support 4G LTE services on Band 28.

It is known fact that MediaTek devices have flooded the smartphone market and most of these smartphones like I mentioned do not support Band 28.

This discovery further buttresses the importance of checking out the features of a smartphone thoroughly to ascertain it meets your needs before slimming down your wallet to acquire it (especially considering the current economic situation in the country).

Having discovered this, I have decided to put up a list of smartphones that DO support the Glo 4G Band i.e Band 28

The above is a list of smartphones supporting 4G Band 28.

However, if you do not have any of these device and use the more popular MediaTek brands such as Infinix, Tecno, Gionee etc, then to enjoy Glo 4G Lte services you have to go get yourself a Glo MiFi device which goes for about bN25,000 (Oh, well...)

If you DO have any of the above listed devices, then you should go ahead without further ado, activate and enjoy Glo 4G LTE services!!!

There are a lot of really awesome products on sale on Konga Yakata...and at ridiculously slashed rates too!!!

In this date and age where 4G LTE is bae, the Black Friday deals is just what you need to get yourself a 4G LTE enabled smartphone at a considerable discount.

Below is a checklist of 4G enabled Tecno and Infinix devices

Kindly share this post with friends using the share buttons.
