How to Recover Lost Google Contacts for Android: Step-by-step Guide

Did you lose your Google contacts on your Droid? It feels like a huge setback, right?
No worries, you can get them back in a jiffy.

This tutorial is a step-by-step guide on how to recover lost Google contacts on your android device.


NB: This is only possible if you have a Google account synced with your android smartphone device.

This should not be an issue, right?

I am sure you set up an email account on your device when you got it, it is required for Google Playstore services.

With your associated Google email account, all contacts on your device as far back as 30 days prior to contacts loss.

Also not that contacts need to have been stored on your Gmail account, Google would not retrieve contacts stored on your SIM card.

How To Recover Lost Google Contacts For Android: Step-by-step Guide 

> Open a web browser on your PC 💻
> Log on to your Gmail account (same as synced on your android)
> Click on the Gmail drop down (upper lefthand corner)
> Click "Contacts"

> Click"More" (under the search bar)
> Click "Restore Contacts"

> Select time frame i.e how far back you want contacts restored

* select Custom to set restore to as far back as 29 days, 23 hours, and 59 minutes ago*

> Click "Restore"

>> Now, on your Android device, goto settings

> Goto "Accounts"
> Select "Google"

> Select the particular account your contacts is synced with (If you have multiple Google accounts)
> Tap the "Menu button" (top righthand corner) i.e those three vertical dots.
> Select "Sync now"

Viola!!!  You have your lost contacts back!!
